I was truly inspired by the 1960-70’s fashion portrayed in the books, Ametora and Take Ivy.
I grew to respect how much the Japanese sincerely reflected and studied American fashion and culture.
I decided to take a spontaneous 8-hour road trip to Brown University to reimagine the atmosphere and scenery that I’ve read about in Take Ivy.
With sheer inspiration, I was determined to design and produce a sweatshirt, the most classic American college apparel.
I wanted the design to be something meaningful and personal, so I decided on tennis as it has become one of my favorite hobbies after the outbreak of COVID-19. This sweatshirt is a representation of tennis clubs that existed in the 1960-70’s and the starting point of Basato Tennis Club.
